ACET - Actuarial Common Entrance Test clearance leads to registration at Institute of Actuaries of India. IAI conducts exams among which 4-5 exams must be cleared in order to work as an actuary

3. Management

4. Commerce

5. CA (Chartered accountant):

Chartered accountant is a certification provided by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

How to become a CA

  • Registration at ICAI and clearance of Competency Professional Test (CPT) is the primary step.
  • The candidate has to face the course exam in one or both groups and clear the Integrated Professional Competence (IPC)
  • This is followed by a 3 Year article ship under a practicing C.A or a C.A firm.
  • Finally the students must clear the C.A Final during or after the article ship to gain certification.

Career Options

Auditing, tax consulting, corporate finance, investment banking, etc. are the careers in commerce available for CA qualifiers. After a few years of experience one can bring up their own practice

6. CS (Company Secretary):

Company Secretary is a professional course administered by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). Company Secretary ensures smooth administration of a company, along with the legal and statutory compliance and governance-related issues. Situations involving conflict of interests, development of corporate strategy and financial report preparation etc are dealt by them.

How to become a CS

  • The aspirant has to complete a triple programme
  • Foundation Program
  • Executive Program and
  • Professional Program
  • This is followed by 15 months of practical training to join ICSI, as an Associate Company Secretary (ACS).

Career Options

Legal, secretarial and corporate governance, corporate restructuring, foreign collaborations, financial management etc. are the areas of careers in commerce available for CS qualifiers

7. CMA (Cost and Management Accountants):

Cost and Management Accountants (earlier referred to as Cost and Works Accountants) certification is provided by Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI). They work in a team with corporate executives to prepare financial plans and strategies and deal with budgeting, cost management, performance evaluation, asset management etc.

How to become a CMA:

  • The 20 different exams conducted by ICAI is divided into 3 different levels, which are
  • Foundation
  • Intermediate, and 
  • Final

8. Finance

Finance is the study that involves management of the financial assets, it involves financial planning, development of strategies, prediction and monitoring of cash flow assets and liabilities etc.

9. Statistics

Apart from these categories Bank Probationary Officer (PO) is an entry level position for students who completed B.Com, BBA, and Economics etc. after 12th. The posting is based on the Bank -PO exams.
